## I have been dismissed

Dismissal letter, settlement, payslips and doubts about next steps. We first check what you were given and which deadline is running; then we see whether to negotiate your exit or challenge the dismissal.

### WHAT WE WILL ORGANISE

You were handed a letter citing a reason you do not recognise. You were dismissed verbally and have nothing in writing. A settlement was put in front of you and you were asked to sign today. Or they suggest you resign "to keep it simple". Each situation carries a different risk, and almost all of them have a short deadline.

Do not sign anything without reading it calmly. The first thing we do is identify the type of dismissal, check the settlement figures and calculate what you would be entitled to. With that you decide whether to negotiate, challenge or accept. The dismissals service handles the conciliation and, if needed, the claim with an employment lawyer.
