Nationality by residence turns on counting the years and on the continuity of lawful residence. A file that does not evidence those two points well is refused even where the time has been served.

What it includes: checking the residence period that applies to your case; obtaining and ordering criminal record and birth certificates; electronic filing and payment of the fee; tracking and answering requests. What it does not include: it does not include the culture and language exams or their results, and does not guarantee the grant, which is for the Ministry of Justice.

HOW MANY YEARS DO I NEED?

It depends on your nationality of origin and your circumstances: there are ten, five, two and one-year periods. We check first.

DO I HAVE TO RENOUNCE MY NATIONALITY?

It depends on the country. For several Latin American countries, Portugal, Andorra, the Philippines and Equatorial Guinea it is not required.

IT HAS BEEN A LONG TIME WITH NO ANSWER.
