Works, activity and opening licences

We prepare and file the licence or responsible declaration with the town hall, coordinating the technical project and any sector reports required.

Municipal licences: works, activity and opening

What is included

  • Identifying the applicable regime: licence or responsible declaration
  • Coordinating the technical project and sector reports
  • Filing, payment of fees and tracking to decision

What is included and what is not promised

Every town hall has its own by-law, its own forms and its own way of counting deadlines. What is a one-day responsible declaration in one municipality is a licence with a fire service report and three months' wait in the next.

What it includes: identifying the applicable regime: licence or responsible declaration; coordinating the technical project and sector reports; filing, payment of fees and tracking to decision. What it does not include: it does not include the fees of the technician who draws up the project or the municipal charges, which are quoted and paid separately.

Documents you will need

  • Deed or contract evidencing your right to the premises or land.
  • Technical project or memorandum, as the by-law requires.
  • Cadastral reference and site plan.

Indicative timing

We answer your enquiry within 1 working day and send the written quote within 2 working days.

Once your documents are complete, we prepare the file between 7 and 15 working days.

Town halls decide within very different timescales; a responsible declaration authorises immediately while a major works licence can take months.

See the pricing page for how we charge this kind of matter.

How it works

Estimated duration: 15 days.

  1. We identify the exact procedure

We tell you whether your works or your activity go by licence or by responsible declaration in your municipality, and which sector reports are needed.

  2. Document list and quote

We ask for the project or the technical report, the cadastral reference and the premises contract. Price agreed, municipal fees apart.

  3. Filing and receipt

We file the application or the responsible declaration with the town hall, pay the fees on your behalf and coordinate the technician.

  4. Tracking and corrections

We follow the file and answer the requests of municipal technicians until the decision.

What to have at hand

Frequently asked questions

Can I open while it is being processed?

With a responsible declaration, usually yes. With a licence, no. We tell you which you are in.

My works have been stopped.

Usually because the wrong regime was chosen or a report is missing. We review and propose how to regularise.

Do you work in any municipality?

Yes, across the country. The by-law changes; our procedure does not.
