What is included

  • Obtaining death, wills registry and insurance certificates
  • Inventory of assets and debts and deed of partition
  • Inheritance tax and municipal capital gains filings
  • Registering the properties in the heirs’ names

What is included and what is not promised

An inheritance is a chain of procedures with a six-month tax deadline running from the death. What makes an inheritance expensive is rarely the tax: it is starting late and having to ask for an extension or pay a surcharge.

What it includes: obtaining death, wills registry and insurance certificates; inventory of assets and debts and deed of partition; inheritance tax and municipal capital gains filings; registering the properties in the heirs’ names. What it does not include: it does not include court proceedings to divide the estate where the heirs cannot agree, which is separate.

Documents you will need

  • Death certificate and wills registry certificate.
  • Will or notarial declaration of heirs.
  • Property deeds and the deceased’s bank statements.
  • ID documents of all the heirs.

Indicative timing

We answer your enquiry within 1 working day and send the written quote within 2 working days.

Once your documents are complete, we prepare the file between 10 and 25 working days.

Inheritance tax falls due at six months, extendable by six more if applied for in time; registration adds weeks.

See the pricing page for how we charge this kind of matter.

How it works

Estimated duration: 25 days.

  1. We read the documents

We check whether there is a will, who the heirs are and what assets and debts the deceased leaves, and explain the steps that follow.

  2. Written demand

We ask for the death certificate, the IDs of the deceased and the heirs and the deeds or statements of the assets. Agreed price per stage.

  3. Negotiation

We obtain the last-will and insurance certificates, draw up the inventory and draft the partition document.

  4. Agreement or next route

We settle the inheritance tax and the municipal capital gains tax on time and register the properties in the heirs' names.
