The labour inspectorate has visited you

Preparing the documentation requested, submissions against the infringement notice and appeal against the penalty decision.

Labour inspection and infringement notices

What is included

  • Review of the request or notice and of the facts alleged
  • Written submissions with supporting documentation
  • Appeal against the penalty decision

What is included and what is not promised

An infringement notice is not a final penalty: there is a period for submissions and then an appeal. Many are reduced or quashed for poor reasoning or badly described facts, but only where they are answered in time.

What it includes: review of the request or notice and of the facts alleged; written submissions with supporting documentation; appeal against the penalty decision. What it does not include: we cannot guarantee it is quashed: where the infringement is evidenced we tell you the realistic scenario and what reduction is available.

Documents you will need

  • The infringement notice or inspectorate request.
  • Contracts, payslips and registration records for the staff concerned.
  • Health and safety documentation if the notice cites it.

Indicative timing

We answer your enquiry within 1 working day and send the written quote within 2 working days.

Once your documents are complete, we prepare the file between 3 and 8 working days.

The labour authority decides within months; the appeal adds its own period before the court route.

See the pricing page for how we charge this kind of matter.

How it works

Estimated duration: 8 days.

  1. Assessment

We read the request or the infringement notice and tell you which facts are alleged, what penalty you risk and how long you have to respond.

  2. Calendar and quote

We ask for the notice, the contracts, the payslips and the working-time records for the period. Price agreed per brief or appeal.

  3. Preparation and filing

We draft the representations with the exculpatory documents and file them with the inspectorate within the deadline.

  4. Reminders

We follow the file and, if the decision upholds the penalty, prepare the hierarchical appeal.

What to have at hand

  • The infringement notice or inspectorate request
  • Contracts, payslips and registration records for the staff concerned
  • Health and safety documentation if the notice cites it

Frequently asked questions

Can I pay at a reduced rate?

In many cases prompt payment reduces the amount, but it means waiving submissions. We give you both figures.

They want documents tomorrow.

Write anyway. Delivering properly and completely is half the outcome.

What if it is about bogus self-employment?

That is among the costliest, with a separate contributions assessment. Both have to be answered.
